Legendary singer Neil Sedaka has passed away at the age of 86. Famous for 60s hits such as
“Breaking up is hard to do”, “Elegant girl” and “Happy birthday, sweet sixteen”. During a career spanning seven decades, he sold millions of records worldwide and wrote or co-wrote more than 500 songs, including “Stupid Cupid” for Connie Francis.
His popularity declined in the mid-1960s, but was revived in the 70s, bolstered by the 1975 US Billboard Hot 100 charting “Laughing in
Rain” and “Bad Blood”
His family confirmed his death, describing it as a sudden and devastating loss. No other specific details were revealed.
